I stayed in the hospital from Monday night until Wednesday morning after having a bilateral mastectomy (transman) performed by Dr Ntanos in a October 2019. I was treated very well, all the staff were very pleasant and respectful of my specific needs and I am very grateful to them for making my time there comfortable, as I had never had surgery or a stint in the hospital before. My recovery was very smooth and overall I am delighted with the experience.

Everyone at the hospital was understanding, caring and helpful in every way. Especially working under the current circumstances. Thank you for all you do and will continue to do

My first appointment was in Outpatients F, all the staff were in great spirits, the waiting room was nice and bright, and i was in and out before my appointment was even due. My second appointment was my preop and everyone was so knowledgeable about the procedure and made sure i understood everything. I was more nervous about the blood test but i was amazed when i saw it was a 'take a number conveyor belt' situation. These people do this all day and i never felt a thing. My operation on my third visit went amazing. The anaesthetists were so reassuring and made me feel at ease, genuinely lovely people. And my surgeon was amazing, couldnt have done a better job. My aftercare in ward F3 was interesting. The nurses were fantastic and i felt they genuinely took an interest in me. I was upset to see the horrific behaviour they had to endure from the patient next to me. He was shouting abuse at them and calling them scum, there should be provisions in place so that nurses dont have to accept that behaviour. They all deserve a bonus for their amazing work. When i returned for my post op the nurse in outpatients F was lovely and said that this was her favourite part to work because she gets to see how happy everyone is at the end. I will however say that signage needs to be improved for Outpatients F as i walked around the entire building looking for it whilst still in recovery.

I wish to thank Dr Hussain and all the staff ie: everybody on F4 @ N.M.G.H. I cannot praise them enough for the care and attention I was given in my recovery from the depths of despair where I had given up completely due to exhaustion and not an ounce of energy left, I never ever thought I would be here writing a review, believe me I know my family will echo my words. The way F4 ward is run throughout the day is superbly efficient, I cannot stop telling everybody I meet how grateful I am for the treatment I have received, the after care I am receiving (I have been home a week) I certainly don't feel alone or neglected. Once again thank you so so much F4 I feel you have achieved a miracle especially with me as I am not a soft person by any means my past health history will prove that. Each day I feel I am getting that bit stronger and able to breath. I don't think I would have got any better care and attention anywhere else as good as on F4 ward.

I simply wish my hospital at home was as fantastic. Many thanks to the amazing team at Outpatient F. I had an unfortunate and unforeseeable complication after my surgery and called for advice and was seen as soon as I arrived. I was told I would need a second surgery, and all of the team were great at keeping me laughing and setting my fears to rest, even walking me up to the ward and staying until I'd been settled in. I ended up in the same ward and bed in ward F3 as I'd not long been discharged. The care was fantastic, the nurses are so kind and helpful. I ended up in 3 days instead of the expected 1 night, and was treated so well, made a worrying time away from home not so bad at all. Thank you to all.

I have had very few problems with this hospital over several visits in the last year, including staying overnight during a surgery. Between prepping for surgery, having it done and being in recovery all the staff were wonderful and very helpful. All the facilities were clean and comfortable and I was well looked after. My only issues were with the discharge unit the day after my surgery as none of the staff there gave me any information or explained the next steps of what was happening. Apart from this I had an overall good experience with the hospital.
